Beyond Clients and Staff: Microfinance Institutions' Social Responsibility to the Community

An MFI can have a relevant impact in the community where it operates not only through the provision of financial services to its clients but also through the implementation of policies and actions aimed to support community development at large. Over the next two weeks, the Social Performance Indicators Blog will examine the ways in which MFIs have demonstrated their social responsibility to the community (SRC), highlighting social performance data reported by MFIs to MIX as well as interviews with leading SRC proponents.
